Ubuntu 10.04 will use Google as the default provider

Ubuntu 10.04 will still use Google as the default search engine, despite a deal having previously announced a switch to Yahoo! search.

Reasons for the switch, you can read in the mailing list by Rick Spencer:

“Ubuntu Desktop team, were based on “user experience, user preferences, and costs and benefits for Ubuntu and the browsers and other projects that make up Ubuntu.”
